Our firm is centrally located at 108 Cape Road in Port Elizabeth, South
Africa. Our office is equipped with the latest technology to offer

Our directors have significant expertise in the areas of commercial law,
property transactions, conveyancing/transfers, notarial work and
litigation in both the Magistrate and High Court. Our paralegal staff
compliment is highly qualified and motivated to provide exceptional

DIRECTORS
Rian du Toit
Rian du Toit matriculated from Paul Roos Gimnasium in 1987. He completed
a B.Comm degree at the University of Stellenbosch in 1990 and a LLB
degree at the University of Stellenbosch in 1991.
He also completed an Advanced Diploma in Labour Law (RAU) and a Diploma
in Tax Practice (RAU).
He was admitted as an Attorney in 1995, as a Notary in 2001 and as a
Conveyancer in 2005.
He commenced his legal career as a candidate attorney at Greyvensteins
Nortier in Port Elizabeth.
He was appointed as a director at Greyvensteins Nortier at the end of
1997 and became a shareholder during the following year.
His practice at Greyvensteins Nortier developed from a High Court
litigation practice to a commercial practice where he specialised in the
negotiating and drafting of agreements and also attended to the conveyancing which often followed from these transactions.
In 2006 he resigned from Greyvensteins Nortier to pursue a lifelong
dream of a cross continental journey from South Africa to the United
Kingdom by road.
Whilst travelling he decided to establish a smaller law firm, focussing
on commercial and property related matters, which lead to the opening of
DTS Attorneys during November 2006.
He is also actively involved in the management of his own property
portfolio, comprising of approximately 40 properties, including 2
apartment blocks.
Charl Crous
Charl Crous was born in Port Elizabeth and attended Sunridge Park
Primary and Framesby High School.
In 1996 he commenced his studies at the University of Port Elizabeth and
attained the B. Proc law degree. In 2001 he started his articles with
the firm Peter Crous & Van Rensburg Inc. A firm founded by his father
Peter Crous.
In the year 2003 he left for the UK and worked as a legal advisor in a
Trust and Fiduciary services company in England. In 2004 he was promoted
to manage the company’s wills, probate and estate planning division,
working closely with the Zurich Associates Network.
He returned to Port Elizabeth in 2005 and attended the LSSA School for
Legal Practise and was admitted as an attorney to the High Court of
South Africa.
In 2006 he was appointed Commercial Manager of the Southern Spears Super
Fourteen Rugby franchise. SA Rugby intervened and terminated the
franchise.
He was then contracted as commercial manager to Sentratek and their
sister companies to conduct an audit of their legals.
In 2007 he returned to Peter Crous & Van Rensburg where he continued
developing his skills as a commercial attorney and managed the
collections department.
Due to his passion for contracts and interacting with people, he started
venturing into the world of property and related matters. It is in this
field of law which he wishes to specialize in and therefore the move to
DTS was inevitable.
Spamer Dürr
Spamer Dürr matriculated from Hoёrskool Pietersburg in the Limpopo
Province in 1995. He commenced his legal studies through Unisa, while
working in a family run financial services business in Polokwane. He
relocated to Pretoria and completed his LLB degree at the University of
Pretoria in 2001.
Spamer took time off before starting his career as an attorney, spending
a year in the United Kingdom where he worked in various informal
capacities on a working holiday visa. Thereafter he did his articles at
Greyvensteins Attorneys in Port Elizabeth and was appointed as a
professional assistant at the same firm after being admitted as an
attorney in 2005.
He joined a small family business in the property related field of
landscape design during 2006 where he performed a management role and
was able to apply his legal qualification and skills, while also
focusing on his business and creative instincts.
Spamer felt the desire to return to his legal qualification and took up
a position as Corporate Affairs and Legal Manager at a Port Elizabeth
based group of companies where he was based mainly in the property
department. He also gained valuable experience in the tourism,
hospitality, utilities and wholesale businesses operated by the group.
After spending a year in the corporate world Spamer joined DTS Attorneys
where he heads the litigation department. |
