Our firm is centrally located at 108 Cape Road in Port Elizabeth, South
Africa. Our office is equipped with the latest technology to offer

Our directors have significant expertise in the areas of commercial law,
property transactions, conveyancing/transfers, notarial work and
litigation in both the Magistrate and High Court. Our paralegal staff
compliment is highly qualified and motivated to provide exceptional
service.
DIRECTORS
Rian du Toit
Rian du Toit matriculated from Paul Roos Gimnasium in 1987. He completed
a B.Comm degree at the University of Stellenbosch in 1990 and a LLB
degree at the University of Stellenbosch in 1991.
He also completed an Advanced Diploma in Labour Law (RAU) and a Diploma
in Tax Practice (RAU).
He was admitted as an Attorney in 1995, as a Notary in 2001 and as a
Conveyancer in 2005.
He commenced his legal career as a candidate attorney at Greyvensteins
Nortier in Port Elizabeth.
He was appointed as a director at Greyvensteins Nortier at the end of
1997 and became a shareholder during the following year.
His practice at Greyvensteins Nortier developed from a High Court
litigation practice to a commercial practice where he specialised in the
negotiating and drafting of agreements and also attended to the conveyancing which often followed from these transactions.
In 2006 he resigned from Greyvensteins Nortier to pursue a lifelong
dream of a cross continental journey from South Africa to the United
Kingdom by road.
Whilst travelling he decided to establish a smaller law firm, focussing
on commercial and property related matters, which lead to the opening of
Du Toit Strömbeck Inc during November 2006.
He is also actively involved in the management of his own property
portfolio, comprising of approximately 40 properties, including 2
apartment blocks.
Justin Strömbeck
Justin completed a Baccalaureus Juris law degree in 1996 and in 1998 a Baccalaureus Legum
law degree at
the University of Port Elizabeth.
He was admitted as an Attorney
of the Supreme Court of South Africa in 2001.
He passed the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test for England and Wales in
2001 and was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors of England and Wales on
1 February 2002.
He passed the conveyancing exam in 2005 and was admitted as a
Conveyancer of the High Court of South Africa on 16 February 2006.
He commenced his legal career as a candidate attorney at Greyvensteins
Nortier, Port Elizabeth.
From 2001 until 2004 he was employed by Masons Solicitors in London. He specialised in information
technology litigation.
He joined Lexicon Attorneys in 2004 and managed the residential conveyancing
department.
From February 2005 until November 2006 he was employed by Kaplan
Blumberg Attorneys and managed the conveyancing
department.
In November 2006 Justin and Rian joined to establish Du
Toit Strömbeck Inc.
Jacques Ehlers
Jacques Ehlers matriculated from Potchefstroom Gymnasium in 1989. He
joined the South African Defence Force in 1990 and obtained a B. Mil
degree at the University of Stellenbosch in 1995. He resigned from the
South African National Defence Force in 2001 and completed a LLB degree
at the North West University (Potchefstroom Campus) in 2004.
He commenced his legal career in December 2004 as a candidate attorney
at Greyvensteins Nortier in Port Elizabeth. He completed his articles at
Lessing, Heyns, Keyter & Van der Bank Attorneys and was admitted as an
Attorney in 2007.
During 2007 he joined Gray Mandimutsira Attorneys in East London where
he practised in the general litigation department and joined Du Toit
Strömbeck Inc. in January 2008 where he practises in general litigation.
Charl Crous
Charl Crous was borne in Port Elizabeth and attended Sunridge Park
Primary and Framesby High School.
In 1996 he commenced his studies at the University of Port Elizabeth and
attained the B. Proc law degree. In 2001 he started his articles with
the firm Peter Crous & Van Rensburg Inc. A firm founded by his father
Peter Crous.
In the year 2003 he left for the UK and worked as a legal advisor in a
Trust and Fiduciary services company in England. In 2004 he was promoted
to manage the company’s wills, probate and estate planning division,
working closely with the Zurich Associates Network.
He returned to Port Elizabeth in 2005 and attended the LSSA School for
Legal Practise and was admitted as an attorney to the High Court of
South Africa.
In 2006 he was appointed Commercial Manager of the Southern Spears Super
Fourteen Rugby franchise. SA Rugby intervened and terminated the
franchise.
He was then contracted as commercial manager to Sentratek and their
sister companies to conduct an audit of their legals.
In 2007 he returned to Peter Crous & Van Rensburg where he continued
developing his skills as a commercial attorney and managed the
collections department.
Due to his passion for contracts and interacting with people, he started
venturing into the world of property and related matters. It is in this
field of law which he wishes to specialize in and therefore the move to
DTS was inevitable.
